Shrewsbury – Nova Staruk, a Level 10 gymnast who trains at the Gymnastics Learning Center in Shrewsbury, won the All-Around title at the Hawaiian Luau gymnastics meet held at Shrewsbury High School Feb. 22-23. Staruk also won vault with a career high score of 9.8, along with winning uneven bars.
Her outstanding achievement was made even more special because her mother, Janice, was in attendance along with her father, Scott, for the first time since he sustained a serious head injury after a fall Christmas Eve of 2018.
Staruk has been training at GLC for four years, and is coached by Josh Orton, Pete Dagenhardt, and Tania Silva.
