Westborough – When Westborough voters gather for Town Meeting Saturday, March 28 at Westborough High School, it will actually be the town’s youngest students, not the WHS students, who will be on their minds.
Chapter 70, as it is known, is the major program of state aid for public elementary and secondary schools. In fiscal year 2022, subsidies from this account will fund full day tuition-free kindergarten. Because that funding is based on previous year metrics, FY2021 will be a gap year. As such, Westborough voters will be asked to appropriate $808,751 to fund that year.
