Shrewsbury Public Library to close through March 29
The Shrewsbury Public Library

Submitted by Ellen Dolan, Director, Shrewsbury Public Library

Shrewsbury – In response to the Coronavirus, and in consideration of information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the State of Emergency issued by Governor Baker, the Shrewsbury Public Library will be closed to the public from Monday, March 16th through Sunday March 29th, 2020. The status will be evaluated at a later date if further closing is necessary. The staff will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer phone calls or email questions from the public.

Due dates for items will be altered accordingly. Patrons are encouraged not to return items at this time, but the exterior book return will remain open. Overdue fines will not be charged.

We encourage patrons to learn about and make use of the large selection of free books, audiobooks, movies, newspapers and magazines available with your library card by visiting https://www.shrewsburyma.gov/369/E-Content and https://www.shrewsburyma.gov/373/Reference-Research. Library staff will be available to help you by phone at 508-841-8609 and via email at [email protected].

We apologize to library patrons for any inconvenience and hope to resume full service as soon as conditions warrant.  Updates or changes to this information will be made via the library website, social media and press releases.
