BREAKING NEWS – Mayor declares state of emergency in MarlboroughMarlborough – Mayor Arthur Vigeant released this statement this afternoon:

The City of Marlborough, after consultation with state and federal agencies, is taking steps to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Mayor Arthur G. Vigeant stated, “In the interest of public health and safety, I have declared a local state of emergency in the city of Marlborough to mitigate any potential spread of COVID-19, Coronavirus. This declaration allows the City the ability to take necessary action to address, respond, and mitigate the spread of the virus and will facilitate the use of city, state, and federal resources in this crisis.”

We ask that City of Marlborough residents contact City Hall by phone, e-mail, or mail as City Hall will be closed to the general public beginning March 17, 2020 until further notice. This includes in-person meetings, general inquires, and the paying of bills. City board and commission meetings are to be postponed or conducted remotely via appropriate audio/video conferencing technology. City of Marlborough residents can pay their real estate, excise, or personal property tax bills and utility bills online at the following link https://www.marlborough-ma.gov/collectors- office/pages/pay-bills-online, or they can be sent in the mail to the address listed on your invoice or placed in the drop box to be installed at the main entrance of City Hall. This drop box will be checked multiple times during regular business hours. City of Marlborough employees will be available by phone or by email during this time. You can find a directory of City of Marlborough Departments on the city website https://www.marlborough-ma.gov/departments.

  • Marlborough Public Schools are
  • Senior Center CLOSED until further
  • Library CLOSED until further
  • Youth and Adult Recreational Activities are postponed until further
  • Senior volunteer tax work off program is postponed until further
  • Public Service Internship Program is postponed till further
  • Mobile School Breakfast and Lunch Program available beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020. More information forthcoming by Marlborough Public
  • Senior Meals on Wheels is currently operating as usual
  • Senior Transportation, assistance, and grocery / medication delivery available by request. Please call the Marlborough Senior Center at 508-485-6492 for more
  • Marlborough Community Cupboard is open and operating under regular

The City of Marlborough will continue to work with our community, state, and federal partners to stay informed and will continue to update residents when new information becomes available. COVID-19 information is also available on the city’s website at https://www.marlborough- ma.gov/board-health/pages/1-corona-virus-information. We ask that you stay diligent regarding suggested preventative measures such as hand washing and social distancing. If you begin to feel symptoms such as fever over 100 degrees, cough, or shortness of breath, please contact your primary care physician.
