Maude DumperShrewsbury – Maude Kate (Miller) Dumper 98, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2020 after a short illness in UMass Memorial Hospital.

Maude was born in New York, the daughter of William and May Miller. She moved to

Massachusetts in 1958. She had a varied career, owning an insurance agency, working as a private secretary to Dr. Gregory Pinkus, co-founder of the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology, was a department Manager at Harleysville Insurance, finally retiring from Joann Fabric at the age of 93.

She was active in the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women, and was President of the National Secretaries Association.

Maude was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Shrewsbury for 62 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Senior Warden, and Lay Minister over the years.

She is survived by her daughters Diane Calvano and Grace LeBel, her grandson Stephen LeBel, his wife Debra, and great grandsons Nicholas and Christopher LeBel, her nephews William Miller, his wife Elizabeth, and Robert Miller, along with several grand nephews and a niece. She is predeceased by her brother William C. Miller, granddaughter Amy Calvano, her niece Suzanne Miller Brewer, and her great niece Cheryl Miller Pluta.
