Shrewsbury Police seek information related to alleged Santander Bank robberyShrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department released this statement this afternoon:

On Friday, April 10h, 2020 at 9:10 a.m. the Shrewsbury Police responded to a bank robbery at Santander Bank located at 47 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury. Upon arrival the Shrewsbury Police determined the lone suspect had fled the scene. Shrewsbury Police, Shrewsbury Police K-9 (Hunter) and the Massachusetts State Police searched the area but the suspect eluded Police.

The Shrewsbury Police investigation has determined the suspect entered the bank and passed a note demanding money from tellers. No weapon was shown. The suspect then fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. No employees at the bank were injured.

The suspect was described as a white male, brown hair, beard wearing a black jacket, hoodie sweatshirt with “Northface” printing.

Fifty five minutes later the Framingham Police had a bank robbery committed in their city at Citizens Bank. Framingham Police arrested the suspect Christopher Brand, 30 years old of Worcester. for the Citizens Bank robbery. Framingham Police contacted the Shrewsbury Police because the suspect fit the description in the Shrewsbury robbery. Shrewsbury Police continue to investigate and will advise if suspect is charged.
