Northborough temporarily suspends PAYT bulk item label sales

1825

Northborough – As a result of Governor Baker’s COVID-19 stay-at-home directive, the Town of Northborough has had an increase in the amount of solid waste and recycling accumulated from residents, which is resulting in longer workdays for trash collection employees. In an effort to ensure the route trucks have adequate capacity available to collect all trash bags set out each day, the Town of Northborough has requested that retailers stop all sales of Northborough’s Pay as You Throw (PAYT) bulk item labels. Bulk items with labels will still be collected but additional bulk item labels are not available to purchase until further notice.

Northborough’s PAYT curbside collection service remains in full operation. Home delivery of PAYT bags can be ordered with an online grocery order from both Wegmans in Northborough www.wegmans.com and Roche Bros. in Westborough www.rochebros.com.

Northborough PAYT trash bags are also sold at the following stores:

Hannaford’s – Route 20, Marlborough
Helen’s Variety – 292 Main Street, Northborough
