Northborough – John Ayotte, who lives on South Street with his family in a nearly 200 year old home for the past 20 years, has always loved stone walls. As such, he had always wanted to build one in front of his home so for the past three years he has been collecting stones and rocks, not really knowing when he would have time to actually build it.
Then came the coronavirus pandemic and Ayotte, like so many others, found he suddenly had free extra time. The result was a beautiful three section wall that is approximately 60 feet long.
“Because we are on a pretty main road, a lot of people have watched the progress and offered nice comments,” he said. “I would like to thank them for their support.”
“I also thought it would be inspiring to others who may find themselves as well with time on their hands,” he said. “Maybe they have a big project too that will help occupy their minds during these troubling times.”
