Northborough selectmen set limited meeting schedule with opportunity for public participation

Northborough – Town Administrator John Coderre and the Board of Selectmen discussed the upcoming meeting schedule through June at their April 24 meeting. The scheduled meetings include a dedicated meeting where the public can provide their input and ask questions relative to COVID-19.

Board Chair Jason Perreault explained that due to the nature of the remote meeting format, entertaining public input has been difficult. Therefore, he and Coderre have discussed the possibility of holding a public input session which will take place Thursday, May 7, at 6 p.m.

“It will be duplicative of a lot of information that you’ve received at your regular meetings including this one,” Coderre explained. “We are envisioning having the board and basically a panel of staff including the school superintendent kind of walk through and talk about things that we are doing, provide some information and direct people to resources and then provide a mechanism for folks to submit questions.”

A dedicated email address will be provided through the town website’s COVID-19 page for questions to be submitted prior to May 7 and will be compiled and will be addressed through a Q&A format on May 7.

Perreault then proposed upcoming meeting dates for Monday, May 18, Monday, June 8, and Monday, June 22, if needed. The board unanimously approved the schedule.
