Shrewsbury selectmen reappoint Mizikar for another three-year term

Shrewsbury – On April 28, the board voted unanimously and enthusiastically at their meeting held remotely to reappoint Town Manager Kevin Mizikar for another three-year term effective July 1.

Board Chair Maurice DePalo explained that his contract had been signed but that they as a Board needed to vote on the reappointment according to the Town Charter.

“I can attest that during my first year working with Mr. Mizikar has been a pleasure; he is a real forward thinker and I think he has shown exceptional leadership in these unprecedented times,” remarked Selectman John Samia.

His colleague Selectman James Kane agreed.

“He is doing a great job and we look forward to another three years of high-quality performance,” he said.

“I enjoy working with you Mr. Mizikar. I give you personally very high marks for the work that you and the staff have been doing through this crisis. Keeping Town Hall functioning was no easy feat and you’ve got it done and things seem to running as smoothly as they can be,” added DePalo.

Mizikar was humble in thanking the board for their vote of confidence.

“It’s easy to work under your leadership and direction and I appreciate all the support that I receive from you,” he stated.
