Updated – Towns forced to reschedule annual town elections due to pandemicRegion – The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has changed another traditional springtime event across the state – the annual town election.

Most town elections in the Community Advocate readership area were to be held in May and have been rescheduled to a date in June.

Profiles introducing the candidates will be printed in the Community Advocate in late May/early June.

Here is information on the new election dates and the names of the candidates for the Boards of Selectmen in each town.

Grafton – New election date Tuesday, June 23. BOS candidates are: Jennifer Thomas (incumbent), Donna Stock (incumbent), Matthew Often and Colleen Roy.

Hudson – New election date is Monday, June 29. BOS candidates are: Scott Duplisea (incumbent) and Dandrick Gelin.

Northborough – New election date is Tuesday, June 30. BOS candidates are: Jason Perreault (incumbent), Thomas Dalton, Lisa Maselli and Thomas Rogers.

Shrewsbury – New election date is Tuesday, June 16. BOS candidates are: Beth Casavant (incumbent), Maurice DePalo (incumbent), and Benjamin Tartaglia Sr.

Southborough – New election date is Tuesday, June 16. BOS candidates are: Lisa Braccio (incumbent), Peter LaPine and Chelsea Marie Malinowski.

Westborough – New election date is Saturday, June 13. BOS candidate – Ian Johnson (incumbent).

 

Letters to the Editor in support of candidates are welcomed during this election season. Please note the following guidelines:

  1. All letters should be 350 words or less. Letters can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Managing Editor, Community Advocate, 32 South St. Westborough MA 01581.
  2. Letters must have the name, address and phone number of the person submitting it (only name and town will be printed.)
  3. Letters will be reviewed and printed at the discretion of the Managing Editor and those that are deemed slanderous, libelous or attacking another candidate will not be printed.
  4. Letters will be printed on a first-come, first basis for each candidate, with one letter per candidate in print, as space allows. All letters will be posted on communityadvocate.com.
