Marlborough – Lorraine would like to let you know that her work on this Earth is done. Lorraine T. (Blais) Croteau, 90, a longtime resident of Marlborough, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Arthur A. Croteau, who predeceased her in 2011, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Lorraine was born in Mexico, Maine in 1930, the daughter of Archie and Mazalie (Roy) Blais; the fourth child of seven.

She was a very spiritual person throughout her life. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Marlborough. She was involved with the church as a lector, song leader, CCD teacher, a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer for Our Father’s Table. She was always busy with her children and grandchildren’s school activities.

She was employed for several years at the Telechron Company in Worcester, MA. She retired in 1998 from the Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Boylston after 22 years of service.

Lorriane had an ear for music. She played the piano since she was eleven years old and was able to play any song you asked. She loved to sew and decorate cakes; especially the many wedding cakes she made for family and friends. She loved spending time at home enjoying her pool in the backyard where she taught all her grandchildren to swim.

Lorraine was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always dressed to the nines with full makeup. She was particularly known for her stiletto high heels.

Lorraine’s greatest gift to this Earth was her devotion as a caregiver. Throughout her life beginning at age fifteen, she helped her mother care for her youngest sister, was the mother of three children, and the foster mother of ten babies. However, her greatest accomplishment was the care she provided to her husband, Arthur, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Their love for each other and marriage were truly made in Heaven.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Dianne Candido & her husband John of Franklin, MA, MaryAlice Croteau & her life partner, Ron Boulé of Hampton, New Hampshire and her son, Richard A. Croteau & his fiancée, Maryellen Desaro of Winter Garden, Florida, five loving grandchildren, Marc, Nicole, April, Aimée and Dominique, two cherished great grandchildren, Gabriella & Juliana, her sister, Rejeanne Stevens & her husband, Dave of Boylston, MA, as well as, many nieces and nephews. Besides her adored husband Arthur, Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings, Roger Blais, Jeanne Desrosiers, Rene Blais, Archie Blais and Claudette Stephan.

Lorraine’s family would like to thank the Reservoir Center for Health & Rehab in Marlborough for their kindness and wonderful care.

Due to the current health restrictions, Lorraine’s family will honor and celebrate her life at a later date to be announced.
