Ly La CaoShrewsbury – Mrs. Ly La Cao, age 81, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday evening, May 17, 2020 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center.

Born on October 16, 1938 in Sa Dec, Vietnam, she was the only daughter of the late Hinh Van La and Luong Hong Dinh. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hiem Van Le.

Mrs. Cao is survived by her loving children: daughter, Tuyet Bach Le and her husband Ken Tau of Shrewsbury; son, Duc Thanh Le of Vietnam; daughter, Nga Thi Tuyet Le of Shrewsbury; son, Liem Thanh Le and his wife Thanh Tran of Waltham; son, Phi Thanh Le of Vietnam; and daughter-in-law Nga Truong of Worcester. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: grandson, Nguyen Minh Tau and his wife Tam Phuong Tau of Shrewsbury; granddaughter, Nguyet Minh Tau and her husband Tae Joon Jeon of Wayland; grandson, Khoi Minh Tau and his wife Jessica Thanh Tau of Canton; granddaughter, Thu Minh Nguyen-Le of Shrewsbury; granddaughter, Aimee Le of Waltham; and grandson, Joey Hoang Minh Truong Le of Worcester; and beloved great-grandchildren: Aiden Minh Tau, Alexander Minh Tau, Alden Minh Tau, Adelyn Minh Tau, William Jin Tau Jeon, Logan Minh Tau, Maxwell Minh Tau, and Jason Choun. She also leaves her sisters, Dung Kim Cao, Cuc Kim Cao, Le Kim Cao, Tuyen Kim Cao, all of Vietnam, her brother, Phat Tan Dinh of France, and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Mrs. Cao was lovingly known as “Ma” to her children, “Ba Ngoai” or “Ba Noi” to her grandchildren, and “Ba Co” to her great-grandchildren. She had a flare for fashion, an itch for scratch tickets, and always had a laugh to share with those around her. Ever the prankster, she always loved to help others find the joys in life. Prior to the onset of her dementia, Mrs. Cao was an exceptional cook, as her kitchen was always filled with wholesome, home-cooked dishes. Her family finds solace that she is reunited with her husband and parents.

A private family memorial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury.
