Twenty-one-year old Zlatomir Fung won prestigious international competition last summer
Westborough – The public is invited to enjoy a livestream of the Westborough Concert Hour featuring 21-year-old cellist Zlatomir Fung on Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m. Fung, a resident of Westborough, won the gold medal in cello in the renowned International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia last summer. It was the first time in 30 years that an American had won that prestigious award.
Currently in his third year at the Juilliard Music School in New York City, Fung is now back at home sheltering with his family in Westborough.
He will be joined for part of the performance by I-Jung Huang, a superb musician/violinist who also attended the Juilliard School and is currently staying in the Fung family home during this time.
During the broadcast, Fung will be answering questions submitted by students in Westborough’s Grade 4-12 Orchestra Program.
