Marlborough – Originally scheduled for June 8, a public hearing regarding a proposed 188-unit development on the site of the former McGee Veterinary/Farm property on Route 20 has been rescheduled to July 20.

Attorney Brian Falk submitted a special permit request on behalf of WP Marlborough MA Owner, LLC based in Stamford, CT. Falk presented the details to the Council at its meeting on May 18. At that meeting, the Council voted to send the matter to the Urban Affairs Committee and scheduled the public hearing for June 8.

Council President Michael Ossing said the hearing was rescheduled because the Zoning Board and Conservation Commission were both continuing discussions and changes could be made to the original site plan.

“The Council should review the latest version before making any decisions,” he said.

The “high-end residential” project, to be known as Volaris Marlborough, would consist of 188 units in four buildings along with garages, parking spaces, landscaping “open space and walking trails.” The property is located at 339 Boston Post Road (Route 20).

There has been an online petition and numerous emails and calls to Councilors from residents with concerns regarding, traffic, impact on wetlands, loss of green space and potential impact on the schools.
