Region – RTN Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Nicole James to executive vice president. James has served as RTN’s senior vice president of retail services since 2012 and formerly served as president and CEO of Medical Area Federal Credit Union (MAFCU) until its merger into RTN in 2012.

Since being with RTN, James has been responsible for 19 branches, as well as the lending, marketing and business development areas. In James’ expanded role, her responsibilities now include direct oversight and management of all departments, and continued involvement in long-range planning, facilitating optimal economic performance, and ensuring established goals are met.

“I believe the social mission of credit unions is more relevant than ever during this challenging time,” said James. “My focus every day is delivering the best experience to our members, inspiring our staff to be their best selves and an abiding commitment to improve the lives of our members, employer group and the community at large.”

James has been involved in national credit union strategic projects, as well as political advocacy efforts for credit unions at the state and national level. James received a B.S. Degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University, and earned a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the Suffolk University School of Law.
