Irene D. MulhallMarlborough – Irene D. (Derzsi) Mulhall, 81, of Marlborough died Friday July 10, 2020 at her home. She was the wife of the late John R. Mulhall who died in 2003.

She was born in Mosonmagyarovar, Hungary, the daughter of the late Sandor and Rozalia (Goda) Derzsi. She fled her homeland during The Hugarian Revolution of 1956, seeking a better life in the United States. She was adopted by the Corcoran family in Falmouth and lived with them for four years, attending and graduating hairdressing school. She was married in 1960 and lived the rest of her life in Marlborough, where she and her husband raised their two sons.

Irene was a waitress at several area restaurants for many years. She also worked in the nurse’s office at St. Mark’s School in Southborough during the 1980s retiring many years ago. She loved to cook for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. Irene was quiet and reserved until she got to know you, then she would chat up a storm!

She leaves her son Victor E. Mulhall, and his wife Eleusa of Marlborough; a brother Derzsi Istvan of Hungary; two sisters, Maria and Rozalia Derzsi both of Hungary; many nephews and nieces and cousins. Her son David J. Mulhall of Marlborough died in 1995.
