Jessica L. BishopShrewsbury – Jessica “Jess” Lynne (Reardon) Bishop, 43 of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 4th after a ten-month battle with cancer.

Jess is survived by her loving husband Ernest “Ernie” T. Bishop of Shrewsbury, her daughter, Brenna S. Champy of Warren, and her son, Deven J. Champy of Shrewsbury. She also leaves a sister, Melissa Anderson and her husband Roger of Worcester, and her lifelong step-father, Donald B. Brown of Gouverneur, New York. She was predeceased by her mother Betty Reardon-Brown of Worcester.

Jess was born in Worcester where she spent her life before moving to Shrewsbury ten years ago. Jess was a dedicated mother and a devoted wife. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Ernie swept her off her feet and always treated her like the princess that she was. Jess was a proud alumni of Venerini Academy where she made lifelong friends. She shared her love of the school with both of her children.

She continued her education in the field of cosmetology and became a successful nail technician. Jess prided herself on her nail career and the beloved friends she made along the way.

Jess was a free spirit and left a true impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her infectious personality and ability to spice up a room made her truly one of a kind and unforgettable. There are so many unique qualities that Jess will be remembered for- her signature pink hair, amazing laugh, her addiction to Godsmack (in particular Sully Erna), and of course her shoe collection. Jess’ outgoing personality made an impact on everyone she met.

She led an amazing life and her tattoos told her story. Jess enjoyed taking trips; always exploring and making unforgettable memories. She loved travelling to Las Vegas as well as Jamaica and countless other islands. Her favorite vacations were those she spent with her family at Disney or as she liked to call it, “the most magical place on earth.” If there was anything Jess loved more than being on vacation, it was spending time in the back yard with her family and friends.

Jess’ love for her family and friends knew no bounds. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for those she loved. She had many people in her life that she considered not just close friends, but rather family. Jess was especially close to her best friend, Kathy Ranaghan, and her daughter Kayla, whom she referred to as her “practice child”. Their bond was irreplaceable. The Beesos held a very special place in her heart and she cherished being called Auntie Jess. Jess left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to call her a friend. She accepted everyone for exactly who they are. Jess radiated confidence and love. We are all better for having her in our lives and she will be deeply missed.

Heaven gained a rockstar.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jess’ life by gathering for calling hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home, Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 4-7 P.M.
