Marlborough St. Vincent de Paul to hold ‘virtual’ annual Friends of the Poor WalkMarlborough – The coronavirus has hit many people very hard this year, physically and financially. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conferences of Immaculate Conception and St. Matthias are there to help those in Marlborough through these tough times. In the past year, the Marlborough St. Vincent de Paul conferences have helped 313 Marlborough residents and provided $93,000 in funds when in need due to illness or unplanned expenses. St. Vincent de Paul conferences assist those struggling to live with dignity and respect. St. Vincent de Paul helps regardless of race, religion or creed. St. Vincent de Paul in Marlborough is funded through donations from the good people of Marlborough and local businesses, including through our annual Friends of the Poor Walk. This year the walk will be virtual, taking place in September completed by the feast day of patron St. Vincent de Paul, Saturday, Sept. 26. All proceeds from the walk will benefit Marlborough residents. Funds raised from the walk are needed more than ever.
