The Great Eyeball Race is coming to MarlboroughMarlborough – The Marlborough Lions Club is holding its first fundraising activity since the pandemic began and the public is invited to join in.

The club will be holding a socially distanced, eco-friendly race where 250 “beautiful blue eyes” will compete in a gravity powered battle to outpace the rest of the field.

You may sponsor and enter one of these numbered eyeballs (think Superball) for $20 each.

If your ball is the first ball in the finishing chute, you will receive a $2,000 1st prize.  2nd and 3rd places will be rewarded with $500 and $100 prizes respectively.

The club is hoping to sell out the entire group by Labor Day, Sept. 7, and post a video of the race and final standings on their Facebook page on the weekend of Labor Day.

Proceeds will help The Lions Club continue to provide valuable service to the local community during these difficult times.

Maximum number of entries is 250. Prize schedule is based on a minimum of 200 entries, if less, prizes may be adjusted.

Entries can only be purchased online at Eventbrite (go to a link through the club’s Facebook page
