Shrewsbury – A juvenile bald eagle was recently found in Cambridge and brought to Raptor
Tales Rescue in Shrewsbury. A basic exam by Jessica Zorge, Certified ACO, Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator, who is the organization’s founder, showed the eagle was thin and starving. It received supportive care from Zorge and Keith Elmes, the Shrewsbury Animal Control Officer before it was transferred to Tufts Wildlife.
“Sadly, the eagle was determined to have significant visual impairments and humane euthanasia was elected as the bird was not releasable to the wild,” Zorge said.
“Not what I had hoped at all but I am thankful to Keith for all of the assistance so we could feed and medicate this bird,” she added.
