Northborough – The Algonquin Regional High School field hockey team opened up the fall high school sports season with a 7-0 win over Leominster on the first day of competition for our area teams.

Despite the late start to the season, the limited number of games, playing with masks, and a number of modified rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everybody was thrilled to be out on the field competing once again. Field hockey games are now being played with just seven players on a side, down from the traditional eleven, and certain aspects of the game, such as penalty corners, have been eliminated.
