Shrewsbury Police arrest three for alleged unlawful firearms possessionShrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Dept. released this statement this evening:

On Monday October 5th 2020, at approximately 12:45AM, Officer Brett Wester of the Shrewsbury Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 in the area of Gordon Rd. Officer Wester conducted the motor vehicle stop after discovering that the owner of the vehicle had an active arrest warrant and that the vehicles registration was revoked for insurance. While Officer Wester was conversing with the operator of the vehicle, identified as Crystyna Lopez, it was further learned that she was the owner. The subsequent investigation by officers on scene led to the discovery of a loaded semi-automatic large capacity firearm, and several rounds of ammunition. The three individuals within the vehicle did not have a License to Carry Permit (LTC). The unlawful possession of the firearm led to all three individuals being placed under arrest. Sergeant Michael Vitols, Officer Dimos Georgiadis, Officer Brian Sklut, Officer Anthony Gabriele, and Officer Andrew Van Wagoner of the Shrewsbury Police all assisted in the investigation.
