Abilio A. ChavesClinton – Abilio A. Chaves, 63, of Clinton, MA passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 6, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife Elvira (Leandres) Chaves of Clinton, MA whom he was married to for 27 years; his children Melanie Chaves of Clinton, MA; Timothy Chaves and fiance Joshua Carr of Boston, MA; Nicholas Leandres of Leominster, MA, his brothers: Antonio Dias Chaves and his wife Sally of Hudson, MA, Jose Armando Chaves and his wife Coletta of AZ, Jose Antonio Chaves and his wife Maria of Marlborough, MA and Jorge Chaves and his wife Maria of Hudson, MA; his sisters: Rosa Paulino, Alda Chaves and Zita Chaves, all of Hudson, MA and several loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Abilio was born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal the son of the late, Artur and Urania (Dias) Chaves, before the family moved to the United States settling in Hudson, MA in 1967.  He graduated from Hudson High School and worked as an HVAC Technician for many years until his retirement last year.

Abilio loved his family and friends dearly. His greatest pride in life are his children who he enjoyed spending as much time with as he could and boasted about all of their accomplishments. He loved his four-legged companions, enjoyed fishing, spending time in Cape Cod where the family has a vacation home. Abilio loved traveling the world with his wife and close friends. He also loved traveling with his brothers every year and celebrating “Brother Week” with a new destination each time.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 9:00am in St. Michael Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA. A Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
