Joan M. CoreyMarlborough – Joan M. (Carter) Corey, 87, of Marlborough, passed away Monday, October 19th, 2020 at UMass Memorial – Marlborough Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Mae (Scott) Carter and wife of the late Robert Corey who passed away in 2007. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Jill Marie Corey.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed playing tennis, bowling and skiing. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to family time, she would often grab lunch with friends, including her lifelong best friend, Lillian. As a resident of Marlborough, Joan passionately worked the polls at Hildreth School on Sawin Street for many years.

Joan was the life of the party, most times without even realizing. She needed nothing more than her high spirits to enjoy life to the fullest (she’d want us to clarify that she hadn’t had a sip of alcohol in her short 87 years of life). Her sharp humor kept everyone smiling. She adored her late husband and would’ve been celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary this Wednesday, October 21st.

Joan is survived by her son, Michael Corey and his wife Barbara of Marlborough, her daughters, Marjorie Sage and her husband Charles of Shrewsbury, Kimberly Fallon and her husband Christopher of Roslindale, and Kathleen Angers and her husband Jeffrey of Stafford, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexander Sage, Cori DeSantis, Samantha and Juliane Corey, Danielle, Jordan and Brannon Angers, and Phoebe Fallon. As well as her great grandchildren, Nicholas and Harrison DeSantis, and Ryan Sage.

Joan was also predeceased by her brothers, Gerald Carter, Carl Carter and Roy Carter and her sister, Mary (Carter) Gordon.

Calling hours will be held on October 23rd, 2020 from 11:30-12:30 at the Slattery Funeral Home Inc. 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough MA, followed by a service at 1:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough, MA.
