Shrewsbury Police warn of increase in vehicle theftsShrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department issued this statement this morning:

The town of Shrewsbury has had an increase in vehicle thefts recently, including passenger vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds and utility trailers. The Shrewsbury Police Department has responded to 3 stolen motor vehicle reports in the past 3 days, specifically in the area of the White City Shopping Plaza and the Rt. 20 corridor. All of these vehicles had the keys inside of them at the time the theft occurred.

The Shrewsbury Police Department would like to issue a reminder to all Shrewsbury residents to keep your vehicles secure, and to not leave your keys in your vehicle while it is running. This is a good reminder to everyone, particularly as the cold weather approaches.

We always encourage anyone who observes any suspicious activity to call 911, or the Shrewsbury Police Department dispatch center at 508-845-1212.

The Shrewsbury Police Department Detective Bureau is actively investigating these incidents. Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is asked to please contact Detective Brian Thibodeau at 508-841-8458.
