Northborough – The Northborough Community Affairs Committee hosted its First Annual Jack-O-Lantern stroll over Halloween weekend. The 43 creatively carved pumpkins were displayed at the Town Common from October 3-November 1 and residents were invited to vote for their top three favorites.

The winners were announced on November 2:  first place, Amelia Crossen, age 9; second place, Suzanne Cox; third place, Kathleen Carvalho, and a very close fourth place, Laura Wrysch.

“The Committee was extremely happy with how the event turned out,” said Committee member Suzy Cieslica. “We are so grateful to the Northborough DPW for all their help, and the local businesses who donated prizes. This is our first annual Jack O’Lantern Stroll and we can’t wait for next year.”

Prizes were donated by MOOYAH Burgers, Fries, & Shakes, Tougas Family Farm and Beyond Nutrition.

The Committee is already working on the details for their next event and encourage people to follow their Facebook page or view their website at www.northboroughcac.weebly.com.

In addition to Cieslica, the nine member Committee consists of Chair Lisa Hodge, Liz Bedard, Beth Paine, Jessica Hey, Pamela Markey, Rebecca Foley Mihopoulos, Lisa Smith, and Tricia Olival. Other events that they coordinate include the summer concert series, town clean up, and tree lighting ceremony.
