Region – Richard Wright, CEO and treasurer of RTN Federal Credit Union, has been selected as CEO of the Year at the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) 2020 Awards of Excellence. CCUA President/CEO Ronald McLean announced the award winners Oct. 16 as part of the CCUA’s virtual Annual Meeting and Convention that took place Oct. 14-16. McLean said the awards ceremony is the highlight of the convention, and the forum in which the best of the best is honored.

In keeping with the virtual format of the event, Wright’s acceptance remarks were given by video. In thanking the association, he said that while he was humbled and honored by this award, no one individual represents an organization and that the award was given in recognition of RTN’s success and achievements as an organization.

When Wright began as CEO, RTN’s asset size was $207 million and there were fewer than 50 employees. With his steady hand and financial acumen, RTN has grown into one of the largest credit unions in Massachusetts, with nearly $1 billion in assets.

Wright is a native of Hudson. He earned a BS in Accounting from Bentley College, and an MBA from Nichols College. He currently resides in Marlborough.
