Shrewsbury – One of the many diners that used to dot the landscape in Shrewsbury, Uncle Will’s Diner, was located on Route 20.  In operation for many years, from the 1950s until the 1980s, Uncle Will’s became known as a place to get a good meal, especially if one was interested in an early morning breakfast or a late night snack of macaroni and meatballs after a night of “club hopping!”  By the late 1980s, the diner had closed.  As shown in our photograph, it was sold in 1989.  It was then moved to Montreal, Canada.  Uncle Will’s name was changed to the “Galaxie.” It remained in operation until recent years, and is closed as of this writing.
