Herbert J. Merrill Jr.Framingham – Herbert “Herbie” J. Merrill Jr., 67, of Framingham, passed away peacefully Nov. 12, 2020, with his family by his side, at Framingham Union Hospital after a period of declining health.

Herbie was born Jan. 18, 1953 in Marlborough, a son of the late Herbert J. Merrill Sr. and Philomena A. (Foti) Merrill. He was raised in Hudson, where he graduated from Hudson High School and resided for most of his life.

Herbie worked for MAACO for many years and was a very skilled autobody technician and painter. Working on cars was a lifelong passion, and his masterpiece was his 1967 Pontiac GTO that he restored to mint condition. He was a kind and generous person, who was always willing to help out someone in need.

Herbie is survived by three children, his son, Jason Merrill, and his twins, Jeffrey Merrill and Jennifer Merrill, and four grandchildren, Gerritt, Landon, Jacob and Jurnee. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Carol Donato, and eight siblings, Frances M. Temple and her husband Al, Patricia Pereira, Pamela Martinez and her husband George, Mary Leger, Robin Merrill, Brenda Wollerstein, Mark Merrill, and Lori Viera. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, Matthew Merrill.

A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at 11:30 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson St., Marlborough.
