Paul DamianiWestborough – Paul Damiani, 69, of Westborough, passed away Nov. 14, 2020. He was the husband of Margaret (Peggy) Damiani, to whom he was lovingly and happily married for 45 years.

Paul was born in New York City, NY on May 20, 1951, the son of the late Dominick and Loretta Damiani.

Paul grew up in Hollis, Queens, NY, as did Peggy, and after knowing each other since childhood, he married her Nov. 15, 1975.

Paul earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1972 and his Master’s Degree in 1974 from Adelphi University, and his Doctorate in Pharmacology from St. John’s University in 1983. He worked for 35 years in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in Drug Regulatory Affairs.

Paul spent his retirement with Peggy, traveling the world on cruises, visiting their sons in California and Massachusetts, and spending time in his favorite place, Hawaii. When he wasn’t traveling, he spent his days making his own wine, and earned recognition in his community and in print as the “Resident Wine Guy.” He loved to stay busy, whether it was making wine, fixing the grill, building a deck, or playing with his grandson.

Paul loved spending his Sundays rooting for the Patriots, and his evenings at home with a good war movie and an occasional glass of scotch. He was an avid historian and a wealth of knowledge on American and World history.

Paul always loved a good party, especially if there was a pool. For Holidays, he was known for his famous antipasto that was a staple at every get together. Whether paired with one of his cabernets or a Bourbon Old Fashioned, it couldn’t be beat.

Paul loved the summer months, and would kick off every year by letting the family know that the “Days are gettin’ longer!” He loved family vacations to Ingalside where he would golf and jawbone with the “GOOD” guys.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by two children, Paul Damiani and his wife Rebecca, and Greg Damiani and his wife Sara; two siblings, Steve Damiani and his wife Elyse, and Joan Damiani and her husband Paul; and one grandson, Dominick.

Paul was loved by everybody who met him and knew him. A generous man, he spent much of his time going out of his way to help others. He had a heart of gold and loved to make everybody feel like family.

Due to Covid-19, funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable contributions be made to the St. Luke the Evangelist Church Memorial Fund, 70 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581.
