Florence E. PhaneufHudson – Florence E. Phaneuf, 98, a lifelong resident of Hudson, passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2021, at the Coleman House in Northborough after a period of declining health.

Florence was born July 8, 1922 in Hudson, a daughter of the late Oscar N. and Laura M. (Rougeau) Phaneuf. She was raised in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School, class of 1941. She worked for many years as an administrative clerk for Hudson Light and Power before retiring.

She was a lifelong and devout parishioner of Saint Michael Church in Hudson and was well known in the community as a former Girl Scout Leader and an active member of the Hudson Senior Center. Florence also enjoyed photography and was an avid camper and skier.

Florence is survived by her godchildren, Denise and Kenneth Travers, and many other close friends. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Arnold Phaneuf, who was killed in action defending our Nation during WWII.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m., at Saint Michael Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson.
