Marlborough – Hermione Kessaris died peacefully in her home Jan. 18, 2021 at the age of 89, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of late Andreas Kessaris, beloved mother, aunt, and grandmother.
Hermione was born in Corfu, Greece and migrated to the United States in 1957. Her passion was being with her family, working in the family restaurant, and being part of Sts. Anargyroi church and the Greek community. Hermione welcomed family and friends into her home, where she would happily cook all day and celebrate her Greek heritage.
She is survived by her son, Anastasios Kessaris; her niece, Dina Kessaris; her granddaughters, Andreana and Athina; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in Greece.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 11:30 a.m., at Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central St., Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held at the church prior to Hermione’s funeral from 10-11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
