Shrewsbury – Over the past few months, the Boy Scout Troop from Ray Stone Post in Shrewsbury performed community and conservation service projects.
One project was cleaning up trash at Jordan Pond. Two weeks earlier they had done the same at Dean Park, picking up 17 bags of trash.
Doing service projects together is one way that Scouts keep their promise to help other people according to Scout Service Coordinator David Lowy.
“While a Scout should do his best to help other people every day, a group service project is a bigger way to help people,” he said. “By doing community service, scouts work together with others to do something that’s good for the community.”
