Westborough – The Shrewsbury Colonials co-op girls ice hockey battled the visiting Algonquin Tomahawks co-op team in a 0-0 tie in Feb. 3 game at NorthStar Ice Sports in Westborough.

Both teams had chances to score but the goaltenders were perfect, with Shrewsbury’s Risa Montoya making 27 saves and Algonquin’s Lana Pacific making 28.

A number of COVID-19 precautions are in place for this season. The game is played in two extended periods instead of the traditional three, masks are required at all times, locker rooms are closed and players arrive directly in uniforms, and fans are not allowed to attend.
