Shirley T. GearyLeominster – Shirley T. Geary, 91, of Leominster, passed away peacefully at home Jan. 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 17,1929 in Hudson, the daughter of the late Arthur and Marceline (Pelletier) Phaneuf.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was an avid bingo player for many years, mostly accompanied by her first-born Deborah. She enjoyed bowling with her husband, playing cards with family and friends, and loved spending time vacationing, preferably by a beach. She also loved spending time at the many family gatherings we had together. She lit up watching her great grandchildren play and interact with her right down to her last weeks.

Shirley was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, John “Jack” Geary. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Grant and her husband Wayne of Hudson, Michele Geary of Southborough, and Jacqueline Gionet and her husband Garry of Leominster; her sons, Jack Geary and his wife Ruth of Hudson, Michael Geary and his wife Jeanne of Maine, David Geary and his partner Mindy of Marlborough, and Timothy Geary and his wife Ellen of Marlborough; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Neil Phaneuf of Mattapoisett, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her daughter, Sandra; her grandson, Joshua; her granddaughter, Jaime; and her brothers, Eugene and Arthur Phaneuf, all predeceased her. She will be greatly missed by all of those who got the special chance to be a part of her life.

Thank you to the hospice team, her nurses, Katie and Karen, and her caregiver, Gloria. They were incredible to her in every single way possible. We could not have asked for better care for Shirley and they helped guide us through this process. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your compassion, caring, and kindness.

All are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 9:30-11 a.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, with a prayer service to begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson.
