Marlborough – Gray overcast skies did nothing to diminish the enthusiasm of several people ice fishing on Fort Meadow Reservoir Feb. 14.
Drilling through 7 to 8 of inches of ice in several places, lines with bait were dropped into the frigid water. Groups of warmly dressed people socialized while waiting for a telltale jiggle. Spotting movement, a man dashed to the spot and slowly pulled up a one pound bass. Others pulled up so many yellow perch and Calico bass that a fisherman said, “Here’s our dinner.”
