Olivia A. TeixeiraGrafton – Olivia A. “Olive” (Rapoza) Teixeira, 94, passed away peacefully Feb. 16, 2021 at Notre Dame Healthcare Center with her eldest son by her side.

Olive leaves four sons, Steven and his wife Kim, Jeffrey and his wife Elizabeth, Timothy and his wife Kathleen, and Bruce and his wife Gayle; 12 grandchildren, Julie (Ryan), Nicholas, Stephanie (Jessie), Matthew (Marisa), Kevin, Andrew (Meagan), David, Eric (Emma), Emily, and Christopher Teixeira, Michael (Meaghan) Remington, Katrina (Jake) Radzik; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, Logan, Olivia, Keva, Kevin, Joan, Mary Lou and Zoey. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose (Camara) Rapoza, and two sisters, Rose Mathias and Mary Sardinha.

Olive was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Fall River. Oscar and Olive moved to Grafton in 1956 where they raised their family.

Olive worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years, the last 10 of which she served as Postmaster in Grafton. She was recognized by the Grafton Historical Society for being the first female postmaster in town.

Olive’s greatest joy was being with her family, sitting on the deck bird watching and enjoying her yard or sharing a meal with her family. Always a supporter of her children and their children, you would find her at sports, school or church events. Her interests included reading, gardening, ballroom dancing and traveling.

Olive and her husband enjoyed many winters together in Naples, Florida, their second home. Olive was also a longtime devoted member of St. Philip’s Church in Grafton.
