Thaddeus T. Gregarczyk, 96, of ShrewsburyShrewsbury – Thaddeus T. Gregarczyk, 96, longtime Shrewsbury resident, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Feb. 16, 2021. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Irene A. (Michalak), who passed in December 2019.

He leaves his daughters, Maria J. Cullen of Princeton and Carolyn A. Plante, of Texas; his grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Ian, Alessandra, and Jocelyn; his siblings, Viola Watt, and John Gregarczyk; and was a special uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Along with his beloved Irene, Thaddeus was predeceased by his parents, John and Bronislawa (Ozehowska) Garegareczak, and his siblings, Isobel, Jane, Ottolie, Genevieve, Mitchell, and Joseph.

Thaddeus was born and raised in Worcester, graduating from Worcester Boys Trade where he specialized in welding. He received certification as a welder before enlisting in the U.S. Army during WWII. Thaddeus proudly served his country for three years, until his honorable discharge in 1946. He married Irene in 1949, and they settled in Shrewsbury to begin their family.

Thaddeus worked as a union carpenter, Local #336, formerly #107, for many years.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, and, in his younger years, fishing and golfing with his brothers, brothers-in-law, and friends.

His family would like to specially thank Linda Palmerino for her constant thoughtfulness.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Gregarczyk family on Friday, Feb. 26, from 10-10:45 a.m., at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury, followed by his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held privately for his family.
