Joan B. Anastas, 80, of Hudson

Joan B. AnastasHudson – Joan B. (Charbonneau) Anastas, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Gertrude (Mullane) Charbonneau and Roland “Squash” Charbonneau. She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Anastas.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Hudson, where she was a 1958 graduate of Hudson High School.

Joan first and foremost loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going out to lunch with her sisters and visiting with her nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  She spent countless days attending their sporting events, choir concerts, and dance recitals.

For many years, Joan spent weekends in the summer with her husband, children, and grandchildren in Wells, Maine, relaxing on the beach and getting ice cream at The Scoop Deck. She loved the theater and attended many productions with friends and family.

Joan was a devout Catholic and was a member of the previous Christ the King Parish and, in later life, attended Saint Michael’s Church in Hudson.

Her friends and family will remember her as a selfless, non-judgmental, compassionate woman. She will be truly missed.

She leaves behind her children, Jana Chamberlain and husband Matt of Shrewsbury, Stephen Anastas of Hudson, and Cathy Kadlik and husband Mark of Holland. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Erica, Brian, Isabel, Madeline, Jackson, and Benjamin, whom she greatly adored. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jeanne Kaloustian and husband Chuck, Janet Lyman, Joyce Cunningham and husband Warren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all those who helped care for Joan, especially her niece, Paula Kaloustian, who tended to her every need and provided daily comfort for us all.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
