Susan G. FlemingGrafton – Susan G. (Griffin) Fleming, 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 24, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren E. Griffin and Addie Delphine Griffin, also from Grafton.

She leaves behind her longtime partner and love of 30 years, Jim; her two children, Jonathan M. Fleming of Worcester and Valery S. Fleming of Worcester; her one and only grandson, Maxwell D. Magliaro; her brother, Roger Griffin and wife Patty and their children Heather Stevens and Chris Griffin; and extended cousins and relatives. Her live-in-aid, Martha, who cared for her extensively, will always have a place in our hearts.

Susan attended Grafton High School and was a terrific softball player as she continued to play in leagues well after high school. She was Valedictorian of her class and prom queen to boot. Smart, beautiful, athletic, and always a lady.

She made a career for herself in the insurance industry. While working in the industry, she created friendships with Megan Peterson and Linda Hooper, who visited her and stuck with her ‘til the end.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, always taking care of everyone else. Her love of animals always kept her house full of little heartbeats. She loved to knit, embroider, read and was a huge fan of all New England sports teams. When she wasn’t helping others or saving animals, she was in her garden of flowers.

Words cannot express how much she will be missed. She had the sweetest soul, biggest heart, kindest eyes, and loving voice. Her smile and presence would light up a room. God will be making the biggest pair of wings for this extraordinary angel.
