Mary J. MilakStow – Mary Jane Theresa Milak (Bruen), 80, of Stow, passed away on Feb. 28, 2021 peacefully in her home after a long illness. Mary was born in Hudson and moved to Stow after marrying and building a home with Francis R. Milak in 1962.

Mary expressed her passion and creativity through various jobs, including as a florist, bakery manager — where she designed wedding cakes for friends and family — and as a home health aide, where she cared for special needs children. After retirement, she and her husband delighted in making caramel apples down the street from their home, at Shelburne Farm.

Mary’s joys included flower gardening, decorating Christmas wreaths and baskets, entertaining at her kitchen table, and the New England Patriots — especially Gronk.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Frank (2017), and she is survived by her daughter, Theresa Marie Milak of Stow, her companion Robert Ko, and their dog Jumper. Included in Mary’s many close friends are the Morrison family: Brian, Chris, Nate, Will, and Matt.

Mary’s grace and strength will be greatly missed.

Due to current restrictions, Mary’s burial at Brookside Cemetery in Stow will be private. Family and close friends will gather in the spring at a date to be determined to honor and remember Mary and enjoy sandwiches. Arrangements are under the direction of Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
