Joanne L. LafleurMarlborough – Joanne L. (Delaney) Lafleur, 83, died on March 4, 2021 at the Marie Esther Health Center after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert Lafleur, who died in 2008. They were married for 19 years.

She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Peter A. and Mary E. (Boland) Delaney, and lived here all of her life. She was predeceased by two brothers, Peter A. and William J. Delaney, and two sisters, Margaret R. (Delaney) Page and Marie E. Delaney.

Joanne is survived by her niece and caregiver, Elizabeth J. (Page) Jalonski and her husband Martin P. Jalonski of Marlborough, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Joanne graduated from St. Michael’s Academy in Hudson and Wyndham Secretarial School in Boston. She worked as a medical secretary for many years and retired from Harvard University Medical School’s Primate Research Center in Southborough in 2000.

She enjoyed many activities including shopping, gardening, reading and cooking and loved vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Marlborough. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.
