Phyllis C. MunyonNorthborough/Berlin – Phyllis C. Munyon, of Lancaster, formerly a longtime resident of Berlin and Northborough, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2021. She was 99 years old.

Phyllis was born and raised in Hudson, a daughter to the late John and Ada (Lester) Thomas. She was a 1938 graduate of Hudson High School and the loving wife of 79 years to Walter E. Munyon until his death in 2018.

For much of her early life, Phyllis devoted her time to the raising of their seven children. She also worked 10 years as a housekeeper at the former Bramore Nursing Home.

Phyllis was a woman of great faith and a longtime active member of the Church of the Nativity, a former leader of its Bible study group. In her spare time, Phyllis focused on her lifelong passion of painting oil portraits. She was extremely artistic, an avid collector of dolls, crafts and sewing.

Family meant so much to Phyllis; she enjoyed having everyone together, especially 4th of July family celebrations.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Ivey of Locust Grove, Ga., and five sons, William Munyon and his wife Jeanie of Waller, Texas, Donald Munyon and his wife Jo-Ann of Bolton, James Munyon and his wife Cathy of Berlin, Robert Munyon and his wife Diane of Queensbury, N.Y., and Stephen Munyon and his wife Susan of Lancaster, with whom she resided. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A son, Dennis Munyon, and her nine siblings preceded her in death.

Due to the current pandemic and gathering restrictions, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough is assisting the Munyon family at this time.
