West Boylston – What does McCarthy’s Landscaping & Irrigation have to do with pizza? Well, everything!
Spring is here. The snow is gone. And people are beginning to think about creating spaces in their own backyards where they can safely enjoy spending time with friends and family. McCarthy’s asks, why not dazzle your guests with a fresh pizza from your very own wood-fired pizza oven?
Roger McCarthy cautions that the time is now, though, to set up an appointment because before you know it, it will be June.
Husband and wife team Roger and Sue, owners of McCarthy Landscaping & Irrigation, have been serving the region’s landscaping and irrigation needs for the past 26 years. Sue manages the day-to-day office functions while Roger oversees the rest of the business.
“People are thinking about creating the space where they can social distance with friends and family. They are thinking about fire pits, maybe an outdoor bar and kitchen/grill area, or a wood-fired pizza oven,” McCarthy said. “We do all of that.”
What’s more, if their clients choose to build an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, they will even teach you how to make the pizza.
McCarthy said that his team will come to a client’s home and teach a class on how to properly use the oven by building the fire, getting it up to the proper temperature, stretching the dough and even making toppings, so the outcome is a perfect pizza.
“I have a lot of fun with this,” McCarthy commented. “People need to know how to use the oven and we want to help them eliminate the trial and errors so they can make the best use of their investment – it’s just another part of our customer service.”
In general, the McCarthys want to help customers make the most of their outdoor living spaces by transforming such areas into truly inviting places for family and friends to safely gather.
“Last summer,” McCarthy reflected, “COVID-19 kept everybody at home. So, that is where people invested their vacation budgets, particularly into their backyards.”
The pandemic may still be an issue this summer. And while some travel is opening up, most people will still be vacationing close to home. So, “Why not make your backyard your vacation destination,” the McCarthys ask.
While customer service is crucial to their success, they continue to take the pandemic seriously.
“We are practicing good hygiene and keeping social distancing…We are using best practices and adhering to recommendations from the CDC,” McCarthy remarked. “We aren’t entering homes and we are outside. So, as long as we can maintain safe social distancing and using hand sanitizer and keeping equipment clean, we should be okay.”
In addition to making the perfect pizza, McCarthy’s offers full landscaping and irrigation installation services. They have a full range of hardscapes from retaining walls, patios to fire pits and outdoor kitchens. Additionally, they provide an array of lawn care services including spring and fall cleanups, hydroseeding, fertilizing, mowing, mulching and caring for shrubbery.
