Bryan R. MaddenWoodstock, Conn./Hudson – Bryan Robert Madden, 27, of Woodstock, Conn. and Hudson, died on April 4, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on June 7, 1993 in Worcester, the son of James R. Madden and Wendy Madden Bandzul.

Bryan attended Marlborough and Woodstock area schools and graduated from Woodstock Academy in 2011, where he was a member of the football team and was an avid outdoorsman.

As a third-generation tree climber, Bryan found opportunities to enjoy the wilderness through the establishment and growth of his business, Madden Tree Service, in 2020. His enthusiasm for the outdoors led Bryan to particularly enjoy sunny afternoon cruises on his motorcycle and off roading to remote fishing spots. He delighted in making others laugh and was always there as a helping hand to anyone in a pinch.  He was known to all for his warm embrace, bright smile, determination, and mischievous spirit.

Bryan is survived by his parents, James R. Madden and Wendy Madden Bandzul; his stepparents, John Bandzul and Tina Madden; his grandfather, Robert L. McHugh, and his sisters and brothers, Karena Karshbaum and her husband Chad, Louis Vigliotti and his partner Gaelin Ristino, William Madden and his wife Jennifer, Branden Madden, Shane Bandzul and his partner RaiChelle Griffin, Jason Bandzul and his wife Julia, Christina Bandzul, Shayla Mercado and her partner Jairo Espino, and Axl Mercado. Bryan will also be fondly remembered by his nephews, James M. Madden, Liam Rivera, and Theodore Bandzul; his aunts and uncles, Donna Higgins and her husband Stephen, Heather Madden, Lauri McHugh, Darren McHugh, John McHugh, and Liberty Pilsch and her husband Michael; and his first cousins, Mallory Campbell, Stacey Higgins, Michael E. Madden, Jessica Madden, Darren McHugh Jr., Devin McHugh and Dillon McHugh. He will be missed by countless other extended family members and dear friends. Bryan was predeceased by his grandparents, William F. Madden, Frances Madden, Patricia McHugh; his uncles, William F. Madden, Michael W. Madden, Robert L. McHugh Jr., Dennis McHugh, Keith McHugh; his stepsister, Kayla Christian; and his cousin, Jessica McHugh.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, April 16, from 5-8 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Parish, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
