John J. Izbicki Jr.Marlborough – John “Jack” J. Izbicki Jr., 64 of Marlborough, died unexpectedly on April 29, 2021 at his home. John was born in Worcester, the son of the late John and Carole (McMahon) Izbicki Sr.

Known to friends and family as Jack, he was an intelligent, warm individual who loved his friends and family deeply. He was an avid skier, an enthusiastic golfer, and a lover of deep sea fishing. He loved going for motorcycle rides on his Harley, and passing time playing pool at his favorite pub, G Willikers in Shrewsbury. He found joy and peace in the outdoors. His last year in life allowed him to pursue his passion for adventures and travel, visiting Fiji, the Grand Canyon, Florida, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.

He was a loving, caring parent, and an involved, excited grandparent. He treasured his children and grandchildren and was prouder of them than they will ever know.

John loved math and to solve puzzles. He worked as a mechanical engineer for 30 years, retiring in 2020. Most recently for Bose Corp for 15 years, and EMC/Dell prior to that.

He is survived by his daughter, Jaclyn Patel and her husband Katir of Brookfield; his son, Mark Izbicki of Marlborough; two grandchildren, Kieran and Ronan; three sisters, Robin Errede and her husband Al Errede of Shrewsbury, Karen Troy and her husband William Troy of Acton, and Lisa Gowaski and her husband Damian Gowaski of West Boylston; a brother, Christopher Izbicki and his wife Patricia Izbicki of Hudson; three nieces, Alissa, Michaela, and Samantha; a nephew, Kevin; and the mother of his children, Judith Izbicki.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 4, from 4-6 p.m., in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
