Northborough – Steven Dubowik, beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather, passed away at his home on April 27, 2021. He was 74 years old. Steven was born in Portland, Maine, one of three sons to the late Chester L. and M. Patricia (Brennick) Dubowik.
Steven graduated in 1964 from Marian High School in Framingham and in 1970 was awarded his B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University. Steven served his cooperative experience at Hanover Insurance’s Chicago home office and would remain with Hanover for his entire career where he worked as a business analyst.
Steven and his wife, the former A. Regina (Aucoin), lived in Framingham for several years prior to their move to Worcester in 1977. In 2017, the couple relocated to Northborough.
When not working, Steven spent countless hours volunteering with Boy Scouts, most especially at the Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury.
Steven and Regina were past members of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Worcester and current members of Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough.
Steven was an active member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. He was a former Tris Speaker Little League coach and enjoyed refinishing projects around his home.
In 1994, the family purchased a cottage in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. This cottage became a favorite place to spend time as a family. Steven was often found at sunrise, walking the beach in search of sand dollars.
Family was the center of Steven’s life. He enjoyed having his wife, children, and grandchildren near him. In addition to his devoted wife of 50 years, Regina, Steven is survived by a daughter, Stephanie A. Greco and her husband Michael of Ashland; a son, Thomas C. Dubowik and his wife Lisa of Mendon; four grandchildren, Brian, Adam, Sarah, and Nina; two brothers, David A. Dubowik and his husband Daniel Coppinger of Palmetto, Fla. and Robert J. Dubowik and his wife Debra of Northborough; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 5, from 5-7 p.m., at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6, at 10 a.m., at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Northborough.
