Arnold R. TardieGrafton – Arnold R. “Arnie” Tardie, 83, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2021, surrounded by the family that he adored.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Ann (Roberts) Tardie; his daughter, Meredith Tardie; his grandsons, Chase and Merlin Swett; his sister, Nancy Myshrall; brother Elden Tardie and his wife Marie; his sister-in-law. Pauline Tardie; his beloved niece, Sheila Myshrall; his dear friends Robi and Peter, who were like extended family to him; and, of course, his cat, “Tabby.” He was predeceased by his brother, Clayton Tardie, and brother-in-law, Pete Myshrall.

Arnie was born on Jan. 18, 1938 in Winterville, Maine and his roots were there. He joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and served for nine years and was stationed in Korea.

Following his military service, he worked for many years as a foreman in the plastics industry before transitioning to MassPort for 12 years prior to his retirement.

Away from work he loved the woods of Maine, taking fishing trips there with family and he was someone you could call to fix anything that was broken. Close to home he loved a great movie and time spent with his wife Ann. Arnie was also active with the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Worcester County Sheriffs Association.

Please honor him, in lieu of flowers, with a donation to the Baypath Humane Society, 500 Legacy Farms N, Hopkinton, MA 01748.

All are welcome to gather with Arnie’s family and friends on Thursday May 20, at 11 a.m., for a graveside prayer service at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.

A Book of Memories to share a special memory of Arnie is available online at www.RoneyFuneralHome.com.
