SHREWSBURY

Organizers of Shrewsbury’s annual farmers’ markets have rolled out plans for weekly markets this summer.

Those will run on Wednesdays from June 12 to September 25 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Senior Center parking lot off Maple Street.

Vendors will be selling everything from fresh fruits, to specialty Asian and micro green produce, to fudge.

“Open air markets are safe and your locally produced food has been touched by fewer hands than in a supermarket,” reads a statement on the market website. “But we still must follow the state rules.”

WESTBOROUGHArea farmers’ markets return for 2021

The Westborough Rotary Club has taken over the job of organizing the town’s farmers’ market, this year.

In an announcement made on April 30, the Rotary Club celebrated the news.

“Rotary Club of Westborough is happy and excited to announce that we will be picking up the reins of the Westborough Farmers’ Market,” the Club wrote on Facebook.

The Farmers’ Market has operated under the leadership of the rehabilitation organization, Dismas House for more than a decade.

This new Farmers’ Market, Rotary Club organizers say, will pick up where that familiar iteration left off with a start date next month.

“This is going to be a big adventure for the Rotary club,” the Club’s April 30 statement read. “We ask for your patience as we learn how to run a farmers’ market.”
